Kevin McKiernan has served as principal of North Hills High School since July 2019.
Prior to North Hills, McKiernan was principal of West Allegheny High School from 2017 to 2019, academic principal from 2015 to 2017 and assistant principal from 2009 to 2015.
While at West Allegheny, McKiernan was instrumental in leading significant academic reform to ensure every graduate is prepared for a career and/or college, and has a viable post-secondary plan. He also increased student access to and success in Advanced Placement courses and expanded academic opportunities through dual college enrollment and access to Parkway West Career and Technology.
Before West Allegheny, McKiernan worked as a social studies teacher at Northgate Middle/Senior High School from 2003 to 2009. During his time at Northgate, he was the head varsity boys’ basketball coach and twice named WPIAL AA Section 4 Coach of the Year.
McKiernan received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Washington and Jefferson College and Master of Education in School Administration and K-12 Principal Certification from California University of Pennsylvania.
He lives in Ross Township with his wife, Lauren, and their three children, Finnegan, Keelin and Brigid.
Meghan Watelet has served as assistant principal of North Hills High School since September of 2022.
Prior to North Hills, she served as assistant principal of Chartiers Valley High School from 2020 to 2022. During her time at Chartiers Valley, Dr. Watelet supervised student clubs and activities, and served as coordinator for several schoolwide programs including the school's Student Assistance Program (SAP), No Place for Hate and positive behavior support system.
Dr. Watelet began her career as an English learning support teacher at first Franklin Regional Middle School and later Knoch High School. She then served as an English teacher at Canon-McMillan High School where she also coached multiple sports, and sponsored yearbook and student council.
Prior to transferring to Chartiers Valley, Meghan was a school counselor in the Butler Area School District where she also facilitated school-wide initiatives to advocate on behalf of the students and families of Butler County.
Dr. Watelet received her undergraduate degree in English, Secondary Education (7-12) and Special Education (7-12) from Washington & Jefferson College, her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Duquesne University and Principal’s Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.
Kevin Sheridan has served as assistant principal at North Hills High School since July 2024.
He joined North Hills from Central Catholic High School where he was the Assistant Principal of Faculty and Curriculum Development and also spent time as interim principal.
Sheridan holds a teaching degree with a minor in business administration from Mercyhurst College and received his Masters of Education from Saint Francis University. He received his principal certification from Point Park University.
Sheridan began his career as a social studies teacher at Bishop McCort High School, his alma mater, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He also taught social studies for five years at Central Catholic.
Mr. Sheridan lives in Ross Township with his wife Jen and three children, Aubrey, Owen and Liam. In his spare time, he likes to golf, bike, hike, camp and coach football. He is currently the linebackers coach for the Carnegie Mellon University football team, having previously coached at both Central Catholic and Bishop McCort.
